Buca Dodici, a modernist home, was built unobtrusively into the hillside along the wooded acres of the eco-friendly and esteemed Shaffer’s Mill community.
The organic elements that encompass the home have been incorporated into the architecture inside and out to create a sense of rapport between the natural and the modern.
The design of this distinctive and smartly composed mountain home has four bedrooms and five and a half baths making living and entertaining easy. The furnishings throughout are meant for ease, simplicity and comfort!
Many minimalist features of the beamed stairs, rails and floors are intended to define structure while not distracting from the surroundings. By integrating materials like stone, weathered wood, and iron it added further finesse and detail along with the state-of-the art mechanical systems and lighting.
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen claims the remainder of the large communal living space. With minimalist components that resist conventional notions of luxury, this space imparts opulence in simplicity. Designed with the professional in mind it provides plentiful prep space, industrial stainless-steel and concrete countertops, high-end appliances and is equipped with everything necessary to prepare for a large gathering.
The aesthetic and natural selections from the façade have been cohesively integrated into the interiors; from the slate mantle to the aged wood detailing this open main living area draws the surrounding woods inside. The slopes on Mt. Pluto can be seen from the comfortable ash colored sectional in front of an oversized fireplace. Adjacent is the dining area backed by a wall of windows that reveal towering evergreens that shade the property. Sliding glass doors open onto a large patio outfitted with an outdoor kitchen complete with barbecue grill, sitting and dining area as well as sweeping views of the surrounding mountain forests.
Pass the main floor wet bar, powder room and private office to find the master suite. This large and open space has a stunning stone fireplace. The ensuite bath has dual sinks, a large soaking tub, steam shower and fireplace. There are three guest rooms with ensuite baths.
